ok friends. it is time to put this to the test. i will be having a very sneak preview this coming saturday. there is a community yard sale and i will be parking
today marks the 9th year of my little niece lily's birth. happy birthday lily! i love you! so, the floor is done on the bookmobile. you may be wondering, why is it taking so long? well, i just want it to be great for you and that takes some time. :) i am talking to different people about where to park and trying to get permission from people to park in different lots around town. i'm playing with the idea of starting out as a donation based bookstore at first (except for birthday party rentals). if all seems to be going well in a couple of months i will stay that way. i hope people will just recognize that this is a great service for them and their children and gladly donate cash for books. i will still offer trade credit in exchange for gently used books too. just an idea. we'll see how it goes. if i'm not making enough money i will possibly go to just selling books mostly.
either way, i am very excited. thanks.
so, i have been trying to come up with ways to utilize this website and make it good for parents and children. i was thinking of having a young artist of the month. where you send in your child's name and then i pick one at random. if your child is picked you would send in a picture of something they made and it would be displayed. also, i was thinking of book reviews. either children could write them, or tell their caregiver what they thought of a book if they are too little to read, or an adult can even write one. and then i would post them monthly. or weekly. these are just ideas. any feedback would be appreciated!
